Luther House of Study (LHOS) thanks its donors for the broad
financial support it received during 2009 to further its mission: to strengthen Lutheran leadership and
ministries throughout the Northern Plains region for the proclamation of the
Gospel. Thanks to the generosity of many
mission-minded individuals, congregations and institutions, Luther House of Study has been able to make great strides in meeting
that mission by educating undergraduate and graduate students, and by providing
lay education and outreach to regional congregations. Additionally, LHOS launched a new initiative,
Together in Ministry South Dakota, in February.
This initiative intends to renew, revitalize and nurture ministry
professionals across the state of South Dakota in both small and large group
settings by providing a variety of opportunities for both education and
collegiality.
As Luther House of Study looks to the future, we are in the early stages of exploring a collaboration with a local congregation which is interested in delivering lay education both locally and regionally. It is hoped that this initiative will
benefit from LHOS support; while LHOS foresees that the combination of
distance learning tools used in the new program will serve as a prototype that
can be used to deliver a variety of lay education in the future.
Luther House of Study is currently in the midst of an annual
fund and endowment campaign. If you are
interested in donating to LHOS, please contact Dr. Chris Croghan, at
