Together in Ministry: One Group's Perspective

In a recent Together in Ministry leadership meeting the question was asked,  "How is it going in the colleague groups?"  One of the groups was described  like this:  "The strength of our group is its diversity.  We come from various backgrounds, ministry experiences, educational backgrounds, and a vast range of life experiences.  All of this brings a wealth of wisdom to our worship times and theological discussions.  We push each other at times in the ways we approach theology, but we see it as healthy and it puts each of us on a growing edge.  The sharing times have been remarkable.  The openness and vulnerability are a gift.  Our monthly meetings are not just another duty on our calendars.  We anticipate these meetings and plan our
schedules around them.  We are still getting to know one another at this deeper level, but about the bonding that has occurred so far, we can only say, 'To God be the glory!"        Pastor Carlene Rhody

Together in Ministry consists of a combination of monthly small group/colleague meetings and twice a year large group gatherings on the campus of Augustana College; all intended to renew, revitalize and nurture ministry professionals from across the state of South Dakota.  Our next large group gathering will be held on November 5th and 6th, and will include presentations by Dr. Ken Jones of Grandview University and Dr. John Pennington, a world class percussionist.  If you are interested in joining Together in Ministry, please contact Pastor Don Lehmann at dlehmann@sio.midco.net or Sarah Stenson at sarah.stenson@augie.edu.
