Current Ministry Professionals

LHOS renews, revitalizes and nurtures those people currently engaged in professional ministry. Together in Ministry South Dakota joins pastors and other rostered professionals in small group conversation and support and invites all involved to large group gatherings twice a year.

Multiple surveys, conference calls and discussions with clergy across South Dakota in late 2007 underlined the need for an initiative to support the unique pastoral situations experienced in South Dakota.

Together in Ministry South Dakota

Luther House of Study sponsors Together in Ministry South Dakota as a resource for the intentional renewal and revitalization of ministry professionals in the Northern Plains region. This initiative is a grass roots effort, generated and sustained by the voices of many clergy across the state.

"Proclamation on the Plains" Conference

The goal of the Proclamation on the Plains Conference  is to embolden both ministry professionals and lay people with insightful, relevant theological conversation.  At the first annual conference, which took place in January 2011, Dr. Steve Paulson, from Luther Seminary, provided participants with a fascinating discussion of christology.

Dr. Diane Jacobson will present on the Psalms for the second annual conference on January 8. 9. and 10, 2012. Registration for this second annual Proclamation on the Plains Conference will open in Fall of 2011.

Other Communities We Serve

Anchored in the Lutheran faith and grounded in the foundation of Lutheran education, the Luther House of Study also serves the communities of future ministry professionals and congregations. Each area of service is anchored by the establishment of an endowed Luther scholar chair at Augustana College.
